Devotional plaque, Saint Thomas Aquinas. Bronze. Spanish School, 17th-18th centuries. Rectangular bronze devotional plaque with a ring at the top, a molded frame, and a relief figurative representation on the front. It shows a man in a habit, standing, holding flowers in one hand and a book in the other, with a sunburst or sunburst appearing in the upper left corner. This is Saint Thomas Aquinas, a priest, friar, theologian, philosopher, and Catholic jurist belonging to the Order of Preachers. He is considered the principal representative of scholastic teaching and was canonized in the 14th century. Compare this work with two plaques held in the Lázaro Galdiano Museum in Madrid (Spain).
